No lead was safe, anything could change
It never seemed fair — the best franchise with the best player
Win after win, game winner after winner
Breaking spirits, regardless if it was Portland, Sacramento, Phoenix, or San Antonio
It was frustrating, but now it’s just sad
From highlights to eulogies, from impact to legacy
No sunset ride, no gradual fade, this is pain
Kobe, you will be missed — not only for what you showed us, but for what could have been
Your spirit lives on any time someone focuses harder, pushes themselves, or leads by example
We may not understand you fully or find perfection, but we see your energy and intensity
And for that, we respect who you are and you will live on
